Your Impact

When you support Army Emergency Relief,

you ensure that our mission is carried out in the following key areas:

—Soldier Financial Support

When a Soldier falls on hard times, AER is there to help. With your support, AER can be there for active and retired Soldiers during their most challenging times.

Through programs like our Quick Assist program, AER provides financial assistance to Soldiers for everything from moving expenses and auto repairs to groceries and gas. Last year alone, 8,000 Soldiers received over $10 million in financial assistance from their chain of command through this program, all made possible through donor support.

See how supporters like you made it possible for AER to help the Strum family after they lost everything during a move:

—Support for Families of Soldiers

Family members of Soldiers often have an even greater need for financial support, especially if their loved one is deployed. Because of supporters like you, AER can offer family members of active and retired Soldiers financial assistance during their toughest times.

With your support of programs like Survivor Assistance and Child Care Assistance, AER can provide Soldiers’ loved ones with critical financial assistance that might not otherwise be available.

—Educational Scholarships

Because of supporters like you, spouses and children of active and retired Soldiers can receive scholarships to help cover the cost of their educational expenses. Your support allows AER to provide over $8 million in educational scholarships every year. This funding enables family members of Soldiers to earn degrees in higher education and receive professional certificates without taking on additional financial burdens.

Hear from Sergeant Major of the Army, Dan Dailey, and Mrs. Dailey about your gifts allow AER to help families with many different financial needs, including education costs:

—Wounded Warrior Support

Army Wounded Warriors are Soldiers for life, and they receive personal access to AER assistance thanks to your support. As with other Soldiers, Wounded Warriors receive financial support from AER for a variety of day-to-day and emergency expenses. In addition, your gifts fund AER’s Wounded Warrior Comfort Grants, which provide immediate financial assistance to Soldiers medically evacuated from a hostile fire or imminent danger area, peacekeeping operations, or training exercises within CONUS.

Hear from Sergeant Major of the Army Michael A. Grinston about the may ways AER supports Soldiers, including Army Wounded Warriors:

I am honored to receive this scholarship. If it were not for financial assistance such as this, I could not attend Dallas Baptist University where I am studying Early Childhood Education.
